Evidence-based Practice
I’m a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) with a PhD in Music Therapy and over 15 years of experience at the intersection of clinical care, research, and education. I’ve worked across hospitals, school districts, and rehabilitation programs, designing real-world learning and treatment experiences— from improvisational drumming curricula to telehealth services and AI-informed tools that enhance assessment and home practice. Along the way, I’ve secured competitive funding, led academic programs, and mentored students to publication and conference presentations.
My scholarly interests include anxiety reduction through music listening, medical music therapy (including spirituality and coping), and pain management. I’ve served in elected leadership roles that help move the profession forward and have taught courses in research methods, music psychology, and clinical practica. These experiences shaped my approach: compassionate, evidence-guided, and tailored to goals that matter in daily life.
Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, I now focus on client services, consultation for schools and healthcare teams, and practical training for clinicians and caregivers—bringing research to the bedside, the classroom, and the living room. If you’re looking for thoughtful, actionable music-based support, I’d love to help.
